Hollyrood Park

Looking up at Hollyrood Hill, and then behind me at the little Loch that lies at its base. We were about 1/5 of the way up the hill at that point, and didn't venture much higher :)

Hill Reserve Park - the longest walk :)

Not the Castle :)

These photos were taken the day we had intended to go and see the Edinburgh Castle in all its glory, and then discovered we were too broke :). So I took a few shots of the outside of the Castle instead.

And these were some of the views we spotted on our way around the Castle. I do love the rooftop decorations around here :)

Edinburgh Old Town

A couple more shots of the streest of the Old Town, and a view across the city as we headed back into central Edinburgh.

The old red telephone boxes, right next to the TARDIS! Well, sort of *grin*. And a neat bit of street signage :).

The streets of the Old Town. I can imagine how imposing the town must have seemed to peasants of the day, the towering buildings all but blocking out the sun and sky.

The view on heading up the hill to Old Town. Firstly gazing back down the hill over the city, and then looking forward at this fabulous piece of masonry :)
